Primary Care Network Explained

A Primary Care Network (PCN) is a partnership between GP Practices that allows those individual services to work together to provide personalised care services to our patients. The PCN sits under the wider umbrella of the Brunel Health Group which is made up of 14 independent GP Practices working closely together with a range of local providers to offer more personalised and coordinated health and social care to support the wellbeing of our local populations. Together the Brunel Health Group serve a population of150,000 patients in the Swindon area.

Together Ashington House Surgery and North Swindon Practice are part of the Brunel PCN 3. Our PCN is made of up of two individual GP surgeries across 4 different sites .

As a patient of one of the GP surgeries in our PCN, you will engage directly with your registered surgery when accessing care from a GP or a Nurse. However, there may be instances in which the care you require will be provided by a member of our PCN staff. Staff members who work across the PCN are Additional Healthcare Staff. These are roles that do not fall into a typical clinical category but instead allow our GP Practices to offer you a range of services to ensure the care you are provided is tailored to your personal needs.
